Kwabena Asante Offei is a distinguished professional with a multifaceted background in Pharmacy, Law, and Economic Policy Management. Currently serving as the Country Lead for Medtronic Labs in Ghana, Mr. Offei brings extensive experience to his role, where he oversees partnerships and business operations in both Ghana and West Africa. His tenure at Medtronic Labs has been marked by significant achievements, including negotiating crucial memorandums of understanding with the Ministry of Health of Ghana to strengthen primary care and advance community health. He is also currently serving as the Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), where he actively contributes to the association's objectives and represents PSGH on the governing board of the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association.

Prior to his current positions, Mr. Offei held the role of Head of Government Affairs & Policy for East and West Africa at Johnson & Johnson from 2017 to 2023. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in engaging with governments and policymakers, shaping policy solutions to improve healthcare access. His notable accomplishments include successful negotiations with the Kenyan Ministry of Health and the Kenyan National Health Insurance Fund, leading to enhanced mental healthcare services and improved access to psychotropic medicines in Kenya.

At Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Offei also navigated challenging conversations with high-level Rwandan government officials, ensuring the success of clinical trials and the renewal of mental health memorandums of understanding. His impact extended to Ghana, where he negotiated the exclusion of innovator brands from import restrictions, ensuring the availability of quality pharmaceutical products.

Before his tenure at Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Offei served as the Executive Secretary of the West African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (WAPMA) from 2008 to 2016. In this capacity, he led initiatives to exempt pharmaceutical raw materials from import duties, contributing to the growth of pharmaceutical manufacturing in West Africa. His advocacy efforts also resulted in the exemption of pharmaceutical raw materials from Ghana's Value Added Tax, reducing the cost of local pharmaceutical production.

In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Offei holds key leadership positions in professional organizations. He also chairs the Electronic Pharmacy Advisory Committee of the Pharmacy Council of Ghana, playing a pivotal role in developing a policy framework for electronic pharmacy in the country.
