PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This training program is designed to provide pharmacists with comprehensive insights into the professional ethics of pharmacy practice and the essential aspects of drug regulations. KEY FOCUS AREAS

1. Professional Ethics of Pharmacy Practice: Dos, Don'ts, and Sanctions

The first session of the program will feature an in-depth exploration into the professional ethics governing Pharmacy Practice. Renowned Pharmacist and Legal Practitioner, Pharm Kwabena Asante Offei (Esq), Vice President of PSGH, will guide participants through an enlightening session. This segment aims to elucidate the nuanced do’s and don'ts that define ethical conduct within the pharmacy profession. Pharm Kwabena Asante Offei will provide insights into potential sanctions that may be imposed in cases of breaching established regulations, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of ethical considerations in their daily practice.

 

2. Drug Regulations: See Something, Say Something

The second session will delve into the critical realm of drug regulations, led by Pharm. Vigil Prah Ashun MPharm, Director of Enforcement from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) Ghana. Participants will gain profound insights into the intricacies of pharmaceutical regulations, highlighting the pivotal role of pharmacists as vigilant custodians of medication safety. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of promptly reporting any irregularities or concerns, fostering a culture of vigilance and responsibility within the pharmaceutical community. Through the exploration of real-world scenarios, pharmacists will be empowered to navigate the regulatory landscape with confidence and competence.

 

3. Interactive Sessions with Resource Persons

In a strategic effort to enhance the overall learning experience, the training will feature a dedicated interactive session with both resource persons. This session will offer participants a unique opportunity to actively engage with the speakers, pose questions, and share their perspectives. The interactive nature of these sessions is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Participants will leave not only with a theoretical understanding but also with a practical grasp of the complexities involved in ethical pharmacy practice and drug regulations, enriching their professional expertise.

 

SPECIAL GUEST OF HONOUR

Pharm Delese Mimi Darko PhD, CEO of the Food and Drug Authority (FDA), will share a special message underscoring the FDA's commitment to collaboration with pharmacists in upholding medicine regulations.

A message from Pharm Dr. Samuel Kow Donkoh, President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), will set the tone for the program, highlighting the significance of ethical Pharmacy Practice.
