“One Hospital, One Team”
Healthcare is fundamentally a team effort. No single profession, department, unit or individual can independently deliver the complete experience and quality of care that patients require.
The Teamwork & Positive Workplace Culture Masterclass – “One Hospital, One Team” is a practical and highly interactive Continuing Professional Development course designed to strengthen cooperation, mutual respect, accountability and positive workplace relationships across the Ghana Police Health Service.
The masterclass recognises that healthcare teams bring together people from different professions, ranks, roles, departments and employment categories. These differences can be a major institutional strength when people communicate effectively, respect one another's contributions and work towards shared goals. However, poor communication, departmental silos, unresolved conflict, gossip, hostility, disrespect and an “it is not my job” attitude can undermine staff morale, teamwork, patient safety and service delivery.
Through expert facilitation, practical scenarios, group discussions and reflection, participants will explore how everyday workplace behaviours shape organisational culture and ultimately influence the experience of patients.
The course challenges every participant to recognise that workplace culture is not created by management alone—it is created every day through how we communicate, cooperate, respond to pressure, resolve disagreements and treat one another.
One Hospital. One Team. One Standard of Service.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
A healthcare institution can have highly qualified professionals, modern equipment and excellent infrastructure and still underperform when its people do not work effectively together.
Poor teamwork has consequences. Information may not be communicated properly. Tasks may be delayed. Departments may blame one another. Staff morale may decline. Patients may be moved from one point to another without anyone taking ownership of their needs.
Positive workplace culture does not mean that colleagues will always agree. It means learning to disagree professionally, communicate respectfully, support one another, take responsibility and remain focused on the shared purpose of the institution.
This masterclass provides an opportunity to reflect on how we work together, identify behaviours that strengthen or weaken our teams, and develop practical approaches to creating a more cooperative, respectful and accountable workplace.
Whether you are a Police officer or civilian employee, clinician or non-clinician, senior officer or junior staff member, you influence the culture of your workplace.
