As part of the Ethics, Law, and Regulation Series organized by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, Greater Accra Regional Branch, this FREE virtual CPD training on "Patient Rights and Confidentiality" is designed to provide pharmacists with essential knowledge on the importance of patient privacy and the legal requirements that govern pharmacy practice in Ghana. The training will emphasize key legal frameworks such as the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), and the Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851), among other relevant Acts, focusing on the ethical responsibilities of maintaining patient confidentiality.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities pharmacists have in safeguarding patient information, the consequences of non-compliance, and best practices for maintaining privacy in various healthcare settings. Through case-based learning, the course will equip pharmacists to navigate the complexities of patient privacy and legal compliance, thereby enhancing their ability to provide safe, ethical, and lawful care in their professional roles.
This training will prepare pharmacists to adapt to the ongoing changes in laws and regulations affecting their profession while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.
