The Cipla Cardiovascular Summit – 2025 is a hybrid Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme that unites cardiologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, primary-care physicians, pharmacists, and nurse specialists in a single forum. A distinguished multidisciplinary faculty will dissect Ghana’s current T2DM landscape, spotlighting actionable gaps between evidence and practice. Through concise keynote addresses, expert panel dialogues, and case-based breakouts (with simultaneous livestream and on-demand access), attendees will gain practical algorithms for comprehensive cardiometabolic risk reduction—well beyond glucose‐centric care.
THEME – Achieving Optimal Care in Type 2 Diabetes: Beyond Glycemic Control
Building on the latest scientific evidence, the summit examines the inter-connected cardiometabolic and renal burdens of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Participants will explore how to translate contemporary guideline recommendations into everyday clinical decisions that slow disease progression, curb cardiovascular events, and preserve renal function.

Overview
Course Description
This hybrid CPD programme convenes leading cardiologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, and primary-care experts to tackle the emerging cardiometabolic and renal challenges of Type 2 Diabetes in Ghana, translating the latest DEMSoG and ADA/EASD guidance into practical, multidisciplinary care pathways that reduce cardiovascular events, slow kidney-function decline, and elevate long-term patient outcomes.
What you will learn
By the end of the summit participants will be able to:
1. Explain mechanistic links among hyperglycaemia, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease in T2DM
2. Interpret the 2024/25 DEMSoG and ADA/EASD algorithmic updates and map them to Ghana’s standard-of-care realities
3. Appraise cardiovascular and renal outcome-trial evidence for SGLT2 inhibitors and complementary agents (e.g., GLP-1 RAs, finerenone)
4. Formulate patient-centred treatment plans integrating lifestyle, pharmacotherapy, and comorbidity management across the care continuum
5. Identify renal-function trajectories and apply dapagliflozin-based strategies to delay CKD progression in primary care
6. Design multidisciplinary service models—referral pathways, shared-care protocols, and audit metrics—for sustainable cardiorenal risk reduction in Ghanaian populations
