Cardio-Renal Metabolic (CRM) Regional Webinar #03

Please be informed that participation in the post-test assessment is mandatory for the issuance of certificates and the allocation of associated CPD points. Completion and passing of the post-test are required to validate your attendance and ensure compliance with CPD accreditation requirements. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to professional development. Participation in this training is entirely voluntary, and you are free to opt out at any time. Please be assured that no personal information of any healthcare professional (HCP) will be shared with Roche. Your privacy and confidentiality remain fully protected.

The Cardio-Renal Metabolic (CRM) Regional Webinar is a CPD training designed to strengthen clinical decision-making at the intersection of cardiology, nephrology, and metabolic care. Participants will review the interdependence of the heart, kidneys, and metabolic pathways and translate guideline recommendations into pragmatic treatment algorithms for patients with multimorbidity (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerotic CVD, and CKD).

The programme combines concise talks, case-based application, a high-level panel discussion, and extended Q&A. Sessions will emphasise timely therapy selection, risk stratification, and integrated follow-up.

TOPICS TO BE PRESENTED

  1. Uncovering connections of the Heart–Kidney–Pancreas impacting patient outcomes
  2. “Sooner is better”: the role of SGLT2 inhibitors in comprehensive CRM care

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

  • Clarify how cardio-renal-metabolic pathways interact and drive risk across common comorbidities.
  • Translate multiple diabetes/CKD/CVD guidelines into a single, actionable care pathway.
  • Understand when and how to initiate SGLT2 inhibitors to maximise organ protection and reduce events.
  • Work through real-world cases (polypharmacy, eGFR thresholds, albuminuria, cost/access).
  • Earn accredited CPD points with practical take-aways you can apply on the next clinic day.
  • Engage directly with expert faculty during an extended Q&A and panel discussion.

Overview

Course Description

This succinct CPD session brings together cardiology, nephrology, and metabolic expertise to translate current evidence and guidelines into practical care pathways for multimorbid patients. Through focused talks, real-world cases, and an extended Q&A, participants will examine the heart–kidney–metabolic interplay, refine risk stratification using eGFR and UACR, and clarify when early initiation of SGLT2 inhibitors delivers organ protection and outcome benefits. Faculty will highlight rational combination therapy, safety monitoring, and coordinated follow-up to reduce events and improve quality of life. Designed for family physicians, internists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, and GPs, the programme prioritises immediately actionable skills and accredited learning.

What you will learn

By the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:

1. Explain the bidirectional relationships across the heart–kidney–metabolic axis and their impact on outcomes.

2. Perform risk stratification using eGFR, UACR, blood pressure, and cardiometabolic markers to guide therapy.

3. Apply contemporary diabetes and CKD/CVD guidelines to create streamlined, patient-centred treatment plans.

4. Identify when early initiation of SGLT2 inhibitors is indicated and describe expected cardio-renal benefits.

5. Optimise combination therapy (e.g., RAS blockade, statins, SGLT2i, GLP-1 RA where appropriate) while monitoring safety and contraindications.

6. Manage complex, multi-morbid cases through coordinated follow-up, medication review, and measurable care goals.
