The GAR Annual General and Scientific Meeting convenes a distinguished, hybrid gathering of radiologists, physicians, allied health professionals and academics dedicated to advancing respiratory-system imaging. Organised in partnership with the Ghana College of Physicians & Surgeons (Faculty of Radiology, Oncology & Radiotherapy), the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria, the Association of Radiologists of West Africa and the Ghana Thoracic Society, the meeting will feature authoritative lectures, case-based discussions and skill-building sessions led by a faculty of highly qualified, experienced resource persons.
Across two days of scientific discourse and collegial interaction, participants will explore state-of-the-art techniques—from lung-nodule evaluation and lung-cancer screening to artificial-intelligence tools for COPD and fibrotic ILD—highlighting radiology’s pivotal contribution to precise diagnosis and improved patient outcomes in pulmonary care.
THEME
Respiratory Radiology: Helping Physicians & Patients Breathe Easier
This year’s theme underscores radiology’s indispensable role in modern pulmonary care. From high-resolution CT for early lung-cancer detection to AI-enhanced image analysis for COPD and fibrotic ILD, cutting-edge imaging empowers clinicians to diagnose with greater precision, intervene earlier and tailor treatment to individual patient needs. By focusing on advances that translate directly to better respiratory outcomes, the meeting seeks to equip physicians with actionable knowledge and reinforce radiology’s commitment to alleviating the burden of lung disease—ultimately helping both clinicians and their patients breathe easier.
