Course Description

Safe abortions are those which are provided by a trained doctor, nurse or midwife using manual vacuum aspiration, dilation and curettage or misoprostol (Cytotec); and which are performed in a government or private hospital, health center or clinic.

This short training from one of the principal authorities on medico-legal issues in Ghana today, will educate you on exactly what you need to know about the laws and to some extent, the ethics governing abortion. Knowledge and understanding of which will guide your practice to steer clear of any offence or even jail time.

This is a 30 minute course; broken into bite sizes, Dr Ankrah effortlessly and adequately explains in very simple terms, what you really need to know.

2. The differentiate between legal abortion and criminal abortion
3. What constitutes a legal abortion, who can perform it, and where can it be performed
