Professor Richard K. Gyasi is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Ghana Medical School. He graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School, Accra with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine (MB.CHB). He had his post graduate training in West African Postgraduate Medical College and Royal Postgraduate Medical School, University of London. He has postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pathology in Histopathology and Immunology from the University of London and a Fellowship from the West African Postgraduate Medical College.

He is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians, a Member of Ghana Medical Association, a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, a Member of Association of Clinical Pathologist (Britain) and a Member of International Association of Pathologists West African Division. Prof. Richard Gyasi, is an Associate Professor in Pathology at the University of Ghana, and Consultant Pathologist, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra. He was the Head of Department of Pathology (2008-2018), a Member of the Academic Boards of the College of Health Sciences and the University of Ghana.

His research interests include malaria, tuberculosis at the advent of the HIV-AIDS epidemic and gestational trophoblastic diseases. He is currently doing a collaborative work on prognostic predictor molecules in breast, prostrate, liver, and nasopharyngeal cancers, and genotypes of human papilloma viruses associated with various cancers.

Prof. Richard Gyasi is an Examiner for undergraduate medical, nursing, laboratory science programmes in the College of Health Science of the University of Ghana, and graduate programmes in Biomedical Science of University of Ghana and affiliate Colleges of Medicine. He is also an Examiner in Pathology (Laboratory Medicine) Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and West Africa College of Physicians.
