Prof. Martin Tamatey BSc, MBChB, FWACS

Professor Martin Tamatey is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra. He is also an associate professor at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).

He is currently the Head of the Department of Surgery, School of Medicine (UHAS). He is a member of the Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Research Society and the African Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons, amongs others.

Prof. Tamatey has published a book entitled ‘Running Efficient Heart Centres in West Africa. He has also published several peer-reviewed articles.
