Professor Harold Stewart Amonoo-Kuofi is a Medical Doctor and Clinical Neuroanatomist by profession. Professor Amonoo-Kuofi previously served the University of Cape Coast, first as the Founding Dean of the University of Cape Coast School of Medical Sciences and subsequently as the first Provost of the College of Health and Allied Sciences at University of Cape Coast. Professor Harold Amonoo-Kuofi holds an MB. ChB degree from the University of Ghana Medical School, a Diploma in Education from the University of London, a Diploma in Theology from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Saltpond. and a Ph.D. from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London. Professor Amonoo-Kuofi has extensive experience in national and international medical education.

He has over 30 years’ experience in programme management specific to medical education and health care. His areas of expertise include Backpain Research, academic leadership, health-related strategy development, proposal development, medical education, and curriculum development in Medicine.

He has published many papers in international peer-reviewed journals and currently serves as a referee for five international scientific journals. Professor Harold Amonoo-Kuofi has also served as a member of the Expert Committee on Harmonization of the Curricula for Undergraduate Medical Training in the ECOWAS Region under the auspices of the West African Health Organization (WAHO) and is a member of the Regional Council for Medical Education, ECOWAS, and the West African Health Research Network (WAHRNET).

Professor Amonoo-Kuofi played a pivotal role as a member of the National (Presidential) Task Force Planning Committee For The Establishment of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho and the University of Energy and National Resources, Sunyani He is currently a member of the expert International Committee appointed by the Istituto Superiore di SanitĂ  (ISS, the Italian National Health Institute) to design, implement, and complete the requalification and strengthening of the A. M. Dogliotti College of Medicine in Liberia.

Professor Amonoo-Kuofi is currently the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Cape Coast Technical University and also chairs the Central Regional Health Committee, the Board of Directors of the Cape Coast Development Company Ltd, and the Continuous Professional Development Committee of the Medical and Dental Council.
