Pharm. Prof. Kwame Ohene Buabeng BPharm, MSc, PhD

Prof. Kwame Ohene Buabeng is a Clinical Pharmacologist and a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

He is Vice President of the Ghana College of Pharmacists (GCPharm) and Chair of the Division of Pharmaceutical Care, GCPharm. He is also Deputy Chair of the Multi-Sectoral, Multi-Stakeholder Coordinating platform on Antimicrobial Resistance in Ghana, and a Member of the National Medicines Selection Committee for the Development of Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG) and Essential Medicines List (EML).

Prof Ohene Buabeng has a B. Pharm Degree from KNUST, MSc in Clinical Pharmacology from University of Aberdeen, UK and PhD in Pharmacy (Health Systems and Drug Utilization Research) from Univerity of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland. In addition, he has a Certificate in Public Health Science, Research and Ethics from the Nordic School of Pharmacy, Gothenburgh, Sweden.

His research interest is in the prevention, pharmacotherapy and control of infectious diseases and cardio-metabolic disorders. He is passionate about Antimicrobial Stewardship.
