Currently serving as the Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist and Head of the Clinical Laboratory Unit at the Institutional Care Division of the Ghana Health Service, his contributions have been invaluable.

Educationally, MLS Mills-Pappoe holds an MSc in Haematology from the University of Westminster, London, complemented by certificates in Health Administration and Management (HAMS) from GIMPA, Strategic Management for Public Health Laboratory Systems from George Washington University in the USA, and Clinical Laboratory Technology from Tokyo, Japan. His diverse educational background underscores his commitment to staying at the forefront of his field.

Throughout his career, Mills-Pappoe has been an advocate for quality laboratory practices, evidenced by his accreditation as an Auditor of the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM). His 12-year stint as the Regional Biomedical Scientist in the Volta Region, Ghana, from 2000 to 2011, reflects a deep understanding of regional healthcare dynamics.

Engaging in impactful research, MLS Mills-Pappoe has contributed significantly to the scientific community. His studies cover a range of critical topics, including the role of glutathione in defense against nitrosative stress in erythrocytes, implementation of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) testing in Ghana, and nationwide surveillance of antimicrobial resistance.

Beyond his laboratory work, Mills-Pappoe actively participates in various committees, showcasing his commitment to the improvement of healthcare systems. He serves as the Chairman of the Point of Care Testing Guidelines Committee and the Laboratory Accreditation Policy Technical Working Group, among others.

In the realm of publications, his work on laboratory-based nationwide surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in Ghana has been recognized and published. This commitment to sharing knowledge contributes to the ongoing advancement of medical laboratory science.

In addition to his professional pursuits, MLS William Addo Mills-Pappoe engages in social activities and holds leadership roles within his community. Playing table tennis, serving as a Church Warden and Choir Chairman at St. George's Anglican Church in Ho, Volta-Region, Ghana, and being the Chairman of the Volta Regional Hospital Welfare Association highlight his commitment to both personal and community growth.
