Dr. Sampson Kafui Djonor is a Public Health Practitioner and a Doctor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS.D) with over a decade’s experience in clinical diagnostic services in international standards with efficiency and effectiveness buttressed with excellent ability to deliver and meet deadlines. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Ghana, as well as diverse certificates including some in Good Clinical Practice from the Global Health Training Network, and others in Leadership and Management, Project Management, Implementation Science, Policy Development and Advocacy, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Global Health Research from the University of Washington (UW), USA. He also possesses certificate in Health Services Administration and Management (HSAM) and Public Relations (PR) and Strategic Communication from the Presbyterian University College, and Certificate in Epidemiology & Control of Infectious Diseases in Outbreak Settings (EPICID) from the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM), Germany.
Having coordinated all 11 online courses of UW’s Department of Global Health, Sampson has seen, trained and coordinated over 6,000 professionals graduate by his motivation, excellent guidance, and coaching skills with these professionals making tremendous impacts in their various fields. By this, Sampson is an astute Project Manager. He was a member of the team of Scientists that led Synlab (formerly Medlab) Ghana Limited through successful assessment towards obtaining ISO 15189 Accreditation with Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) from Germany in 2016. Within a year as head of laboratory and diagnostics of Claron Health International, the laboratory attained a 5 -Star quality accreditation with PharmAccess SafeCare, and the Facility, a 3-star. He is a qualified, trained and competent ISO 15189:2022 Assessor.
Championing volunteerism and social responsibility as a public health advocate, Sampson has engaged and organized several community and church screenings through projects such as December4Charity of Humam Missions; screenings of the Catholic Health Professionals Guild, screenings of the Federation of Catholic Health Trainees yearly congresses, and that of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) Pax Romana, Korle-Bu. These have seen over 10,000 people getting their BP, blood glucose, total cholesterol and Hepatitis B status checked, many receiving Hepatitis B vaccinations, and several others having their health insurance cards registered. Having worked on several researches with data analysis expertise in STATA and SPSS, Dr. Djonor has presented at several conferences and with a considerable number of publications in peer reviewed journals. His research works mostly hinge on unravelling the determinants, double burden and interplay between communicable and non-communicable disease such as diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria; and championing excellent diagnostic capacity and quality healthcare. Highly dependable, he looks out for opportunities and collaborations in such regard.
