Dr. Prince Yaw Boahene is a dedicated and highly skilled Cardiologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, Ghana. With extensive experience in internal medicine and cardiology, he has made significant contributions to the medical field, particularly in cardiovascular care. Dr. Boahene’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), followed by an MBCHB from the School of Medical Science at KNUST. He further honed his medical expertise during his residency at KATH, where he trained in internal medicine under the West African and Ghana College of Physicians. He also completed a cardiology fellowship rotation at the University of Michigan's Samuel and Frankel Cardiovascular Center, broadening his international exposure and expertise.

Currently, Dr. Boahene serves as a Cardiologist at KATH, where he actively contributes to the management and care of patients with cardiovascular diseases. He also holds a position as a part-time lecturer at the School of Medical Science, KNUST, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of medical professionals. In addition to his role at KATH, he offers his services as a Consultant Physician at several hospitals in Kumasi, including Firstcare Specialist Hospital, Abenkyima Hospital, and Asafo Boakye Specialist Hospital. His dedication to improving healthcare extends beyond clinical practice, as he regularly participates in volunteer work, serving as a volunteer doctor at the SOS Orphanage Village in Kumasi and acting as the local director for R.E.S.T.O.R.E Worldwide Inc., an organization focused on emotional and physical reconstructive efforts.

Dr. Boahene's research interests are primarily focused on hypertension and cardiovascular disease. He has published several notable papers, including studies on blood pressure control among hypertensive patients and case reports on complex medical conditions such as ACTH-independent Cushing’s syndrome and multifocal endometriosis. His research on left ventricular electrical dyssynchrony in heart failure patients has provided valuable insights into the accessibility of cardiac resynchronization therapy in Ghana. Additionally, Dr. Boahene has contributed to the development of national guidelines for the management of cardiovascular diseases in Ghana, demonstrating his commitment to advancing medical practice and improving patient outcomes.

Throughout his career, Dr. Boahene has served on various committees and boards, including the Education Committee of the Department of Internal Medicine at KATH, the Cardiology Transitional Committee, and the Prisons Board for Amnesty Consideration in Kumasi. His expertise, leadership, and commitment to both clinical care and medical education have established him as a respected figure in the field of cardiology in Ghana.
