
Dr. Naa Adorkor Aryeetey is a dedicated Specialist Radiation Oncologist affiliated with the National Center for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine. With a passion for addressing the evolving healthcare landscape in Ghana, Dr. Aryeetey has focused her expertise on radiation oncology, recognizing the impending rise in the burden of chronic and non-infectious diseases, including cancer, as life expectancy and standards of living improve.
A graduate of Wesley Girls High School and the University of Ghana Medical School, Dr. Aryeetey holds a BSc in Human Sciences and completed her MBChB in March 2008. Her commitment to advancing her medical knowledge is evident in her attainment of the MGCP from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in December 2015. Currently pursuing a fellowship training in radiation oncology at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Aryeetey is poised to further contribute to cancer care in Ghana.
In her role as a Specialist Radiation Oncologist since September 2015, Dr. Aryeetey actively manages patients with cancer, overseeing the planning of their radiation treatment and prescribing chemotherapy. She takes a holistic approach, also managing side effects from treatment. Dr. Aryeetey plays a pivotal role in tumor board meetings held weekly, focusing on breast, head and neck, gastrointestinal, and pediatric cases.
Dr. Aryeetey's dedication to her field extends beyond her local practice. She has gained international exposure through internships and observations at renowned institutions such as New York Presbyterian Hospital Pediatric Critical Care and Cardiology in 2007 and the Cross Cancer Institute in Alberta, Canada, in 2015. Her commitment to advancing medical knowledge is reflected in her contributions to several peer-reviewed journal publications.
With a firm belief in the importance of being a confident, assertive, and continuously learning professional, Dr. Naa Adorkor Aryeetey is poised to make significant contributions to cancer care in Ghana. She sees herself as an asset to the country, aiming not only to enhance patient care but also to contribute to improving the country's database on cancer-related issues through active engagement in research and clinical trials.
