He currently holds the position of Project Lead, spearheading the Transthyretin Amyloidosis awareness initiative in Ghana and West Africa. His impressive background encompasses 12 years of teaching and research experience in higher education, coupled with a fervent commitment to exploring amyloidosis, cancer, infectious diseases, and other non-communicable diseases.
With a fervent commitment to student success, Dr. Appiah-Kubi is a seasoned Senior Lecturer and accomplished researcher who is well-versed in cancer biology, therapeutics, molecular parasitology, epidemiology of parasitic diseases, data analysis, and program evaluation. He has a keen eye for proofreading and copyediting, further enhancing the quality of his contributions. Fluent in three Ghanaian languages, including Twi, Gurune, and Nabdam, as well as English and Hausa, and possessing a foundational understanding of Mandarin Chinese (HSK II), he embraces the power of effective communication.
Dr. Appiah-Kubi's academic journey commenced with an Undergraduate degree and Master's Degree in Zoology (Parasitology) from the University of Ghana, followed by a Ph.D. in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostic Medicine from Jiangsu University in China. His specialization in targeted inhibition of kinases in cancer and molecular parasitology on virulent proteins research showcases his commitment to multifaceted research endeavors.
A dedicated member of professional associations, he is affiliated with the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), Ghana Science Association (GSA), International Society of Amyloidosis (ISA), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), where he serves as an ambassador. His research interests are expansive, encompassing molecular basis non-communicable diseases, protein kinases, infectious diseases linked to malignancies, gene-environment interactions, and more.
