Dr. Jocelyn Gyapomaa Asibey is a dedicated pediatrician with extensive clinical experience in both general pediatric care and neonatology, particularly within low- and middle-income country settings. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving neonatal health outcomes through both practice and research. Currently based at the Eastern Regional Hospital, she has held various positions at leading medical institutions across Ghana, including the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Holy Family Hospital, where she provided specialized pediatric services and supported critical neonatal care during high-risk deliveries.

Her professional journey is marked by a deep engagement in collaborative clinical research, particularly in areas such as rotavirus infections, childhood tuberculosis, and anemia in children under five. She has actively contributed to multiple studies, including roles as co-investigator and sub-investigator in projects focusing on pediatric health challenges. Her interest in evidence-based care also extends to the evaluation of practices such as Kangaroo Mother Care and the nutritional and biochemical factors affecting children with sickle cell anemia.

In her current role, Jocelyn plays a key part in medical education, offering bedside teaching and delivering tutorials and seminars to medical students and junior doctors. Her teaching covers a range of essential topics including infection prevention, neonatal resuscitation, and perinatal asphyxia. She is also a frequent participant in professional development activities, having attended specialized training in pediatric nutrition, cardiology, neurology, and neonatology, both locally and internationally.

Jocelyn is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Ghana Medical Association, the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Paediatric Society of Ghana, and the Medical Women Association of Ghana. She is fluent in English and is passionate about mentoring young medical professionals, often dedicating her spare time to guiding and supporting future healthcare providers.
