Dr. Gabriel Y.K. Ganyaglo MB ChB, FGCS, FWACS, Cert. HAM

Dr. Gabriel Y.K. Ganyaglo is a Consultant Obstetrician, Urogynaecologist, and Fistula Surgeon at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana, where he also heads the Urogynaecology Unit. He holds an MB ChB from the University of Ghana Medical School, a BSc (Med)Sci from the University of Ghana, and a Certificate in Health Administration & Management from GIMPA. His specialist qualifications include Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), Fellow of the Ghana College of Surgeons in Urogynaecology (FGCS-Urogyn), and he is a FIGO-certified Fistula Surgeon. Beyond his clinical role, he serves as the Organising Secretary of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Ghana and Co-chair of the National Obstetric Fistula Task Force for the Ghana Health Service. He has held leadership positions with FIGO, the International Urogynecology Association (IUGA), and the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has also worked as a residency training coordinator in Sierra Leone and serves on the board of the Maternal Health Foundation in the USA. His research and publications focus on urogynaecology, obstetric fistula, and maternal health, and he has received the IUGA Clinical Research Grant.
