Dr. Fafa Komla Xexemeku, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in non-invasive and advanced imaging. His expertise encompasses a wide range of cardiovascular diagnostic techniques, including Echocardiography (including Transesophageal Echocardiography), Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiovascular Computerized Tomography, Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and Vascular Ultrasound.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ghana Medical School, Accra, Ghana, in 2003, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Science from the University of Ghana in 1999.

Dr. Xexemeku completed post-graduate training, including cardiovascular CT training at Sentara Heart Hospital/Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, and a mini-fellowship in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance at the University College of London, London, England, UK/Barts Heart Center, London, England, UK. He furthered his medical education with a fellowship in Cardiology and residency in Internal Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital/Yale University, Bridgeport/New Haven, CT, and residency in Internal Medicine at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana.

With multiple board certifications, including those from the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, Dr. Xexemeku holds medical licensure in the State of New York and the State of Wisconsin.

Dr. Xexemeku has contributed significantly to various healthcare institutions, such as Mercyhealth in Janesville, WI, and Crouse Hospital/Crouse Medical Practice in NY, USA. His roles include Cardiologist/Radiologist, overseeing outpatient and inpatient care and leading cardiac imaging programs.

In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Xexemeku has received awards for outstanding work in early cancer detection, leadership, and scholarship. Notable awards include the American Cancer Society Resident Cancer Screening Award in 2012 and the First Prize for Oral Presentation at the Bridgeport Hospital Annual Science Symposium in 2011.

A member of professional organizations such as the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Dr. Xexemeku has shared his expertise through presentations on topics such as predictors of early readmission in heart failure patients and the clinical utility of cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
