Dr. Elliot Koranteng Tannor FWACP, MBA, MPhil, Cert Nephrology (SA), ISN Fellow, Senior Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity

Dr. Elliot Koranteng Tannor is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medicine of the School of Medicine and Dentistry of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Senior Specialist Physician and Consultant Nephrologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) and Fellow of the International
Society of Nephrology (ISN). Elliot is a Senior Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity and holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Consulting. Elliot has 30 manuscripts and abstracts in peer-review journals and has 17 non-peer review articles published online on health education.

Elliot is a Co-PI at the Kumasi site of the Kidney Disease Research Network of the H3Africa study
and also a key Investigator with the May Measurement Month – a hypertension screening exercise
held in May every year in conjunction with the International Society of Hypertension which has
produced 3 publications in peer-review journals.

Elliot is greatly involved with health education to help prevent kidney diseases. He has talked on 13 radio stations, 8 television stations, churches, and beliefs in promoting equitable access to sustainable kidney health in Ghana and beyond. He organizes free screening exercises for vulnerable groups and trains healthcare workers on how to educate and screen high-risk patients to prevent kidney diseases. He has written a book titled ‘How to prevent kidney disease’ in Ghana.
