Dr. Eli Kwasi Atikpui MBCh.B, MPH, LLB

Dr. Eli Kwasi Atikpui obtained his BSc. (Human Biology) and MB.ChB in 1983 and 1985 respectively from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and a Masters's Degree in Public Health and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Management, Planning and Policy in 1993 and 2004 respectively from the Nuffield Institute for Health Services, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. He also holds an LLB Degree in Law from the School of Law, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra-Ghana.


He is a professional medical practitioner with 34 years of extensive knowledge and experience in clinical and managerial services at various levels of the health sector in Ghana. He has also worked as a Medical Administrator at the National, Regional, and District Levels of the country. He has been a facilitator and resource person at various workshops on ethics, medical jurisprudence, public health policy, district health systems, and institutional care and a part-time lecturer in Epidemiology and Health Care Management at the School of Administration, University of Ghana, Legon. He has authored several articles on health policy, management, and regulation.

Dr. Atikpui has sat on many Boards including the Board of the College of Health and Wellbeing, Kintampo. He was a Management Committee Member, International Association of Medical Regulatory Authority (IAMRA), a Member of the Ghana-Yale Partnership for Global Health Initiative, a member of the University of Ghana Hospital Implementation Committee, a member of the Management Committee of the Association of Medical Councils of Africa (AMCOA) and the immediate past Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council.
