Dr. Bernard Samia Mugodo is a Senior Physician and Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience in the clinical management of adult diseases, specializing in Clinical and Interventional Cardiology.
He is currently working as a Consultant Physician and Interventional Cardiologist at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Samia has a broad knowledge base and practice in clinical research. He aims to contribute to improving cardiovascular health in his community and beyond by participating in generating home-grown solutions.
He is currently studying for an MSc in International Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University, London. Dr. Samia has also completed a Fellowship in Cardiology at Madras Medical Mission, India. Additionally, he holds a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the same university. Bernard has participated in various activities and courses, such as the Euro PCR 2021 Paris, where he presented at a cardiology intervention forum.
He is an international editor with the Sahel Medical Journal in Nigeria and a reviewer/author in the Kenya Cardiovascular Disease Guidelines manual. He has also been a key reviewer during the publication of the Cardiovascular Guidelines Manual for Kenya Healthcare Workers.
Dr. Samia has organized programs during World Heart Day and May Measurement Month for the last three years and organized Kenya Cardiac Society Annual Scientific Conferences for the last six years. Furthermore, he has organized and disseminated the Cardiovascular Diseases curriculum of the Ministry.
