Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, Ghana

Dr. Augustina Badu-Peprah is a Consultant Radiologist at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, Ghana, where she has worked for many years. She also serves as a Senior Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Her academic qualifications include an MBChB and a BSc in Human Biology, both from KNUST. She holds a Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and a Fellowship of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (FGCS). She also has a Certificate of Mastery in Ultrasound from the Institute of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound in Kumasi, a Diploma in Project Design and Management from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in collaboration with KATH, and a certificate in Health Administration and Management from GIMPA. She has completed additional training in Breast Imaging Techniques at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, USA, and Radiological Imaging Techniques at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA, as well as earlier training at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam and the University of Pennsylvania. She is an examiner and trainer for both the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the West African College of Surgeons. Her research includes work on breast cancer survival outcomes in Africa, ultrasound imaging, tuberculosis, and oncology education, and she has contributed to book chapters on MRI and abdominal ultrasound.
