Doris Lartey is a dedicated legal professional with a strong commitment to delivering value to individuals, organizations, and communities. Currently, Doris serves as a Pro Bono Lawyer with both the Ghana–West Africa Program to Combat AIDS and STIs and Women in Law and Development in Africa (WiLDAF Ghana). In these roles, she provides legal advice, represents clients in court, coordinates case strategies with fellow lawyers, and ensures effective management of cases referred to state institutions. Her contributions have consistently supported access to justice and legal empowerment for vulnerable populations.
In her role as Associate Counsel at Lex Praxis Incorporated, Doris represents clients in court, drafts legal opinions, prepares contracts, and negotiates settlements. Her tenure at Lex Praxis is marked by notable achievements, including successfully conducting research and winning a case within her first month of employment, as well as securing favorable outcomes in arbitration proceedings.
Doris’ professional journey also includes her time as a Pupil at the Civil Division of the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Justice, where she conducted legal research, reviewed government contracts, and represented the State in court. Her contributions during this period reflected her analytical capabilities and courtroom competence.
Academically, Doris holds a Barrister-at-Law qualification from the Ghana School of Law, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana, and a First Class Bachelor of Science in Development Studies from Valley View University. Her educational achievements form a solid foundation for her extensive legal practice and advocacy work.
Beyond her formal roles, Doris has demonstrated leadership and initiative through her involvement in various professional and community activities. She has served as a resource person and facilitator for organizations such as WiLDAF Ghana, the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative, and the Ghana-West Africa Program to Combat AIDS and STIs. Her contributions to projects on human rights, sexual health, and legislative reviews underscore her commitment to societal progress and justice.
Doris remains an active member of professional and community committees, including the Ecumenical & Social Relations Committee and the Judicial Committee of the Students Representative Council at the Ghana School of Law.
