Confronting Antimicrobial Resistance Together

Summary

OVERVIEW

This training and discussion aims to empower health professionals, including pharmacists, medical doctors, clinical nurses, and biomedical scientists, to collaboratively combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Recognizing the importance of individual roles within the healthcare team, this training seeks to foster effective collaboration to address the pressing issue of AMR. The CPD training aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the individual and collaborative roles of health professionals in combating AMR. The diverse perspectives presented by distinguished facilitators, will facilitate a holistic approach to this global health challenge.

 

OBJECTIVES

1. Understanding Individual and Collaborative Roles:

  • To help health professionals comprehend the significance of their individual roles in preventing AMR.
  • To empower health professionals with the knowledge of how collaboration enhances their collective impact on the fight against AMR.

 

2. Effective Collaboration Across Disciplines:

  • To equip health professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to work seamlessly with other members of the healthcare team.
  • To highlight the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in the comprehensive response to AMR.

 

TOPICS TO BE PRESENTED

i. Collaborating to Win The Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: the Perspective of the Pharmacist:

  • Exploring the pharmacist's role in preventing AMR.
  • Strategies for effective collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

 

ii. Collaborating To Win The Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: The Perspective of the Biomedical Scientist:

  • Understanding the contribution of biomedical scientists in combating AMR.
  • Facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient outcomes.

 

iii. Collaborating to Win The Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: the Perspective of the Clinical Nurse:

  • Examining the unique role of clinical nurses in preventing AMR.
  • Promoting collaboration between clinical nurses and other healthcare team members.

 

iv. Collaborating To Win The Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: the Perspective of Medical Doctor:

  • Discussing the critical role of medical doctors in the fight against AMR.
  • Strategies for effective communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
