EVENT OVERVIEW

 

The 6th Annual General Scientific Meeting (AGSM) of the Diabetes Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Ghana (DEMSoG) is an anticipated hybrid event, accessible both virtually and in person at the Best Western Premier Hotel. This premier gathering serves as an inclusive platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions on advancing diabetes management practices and exploring the complexities of diabetes mellitus care.

  

The event comprises two main segments: the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Scientific Session. 

 

The Annual General Meeting (AGM - Business Meeting for members only) In-person only, is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm, will address essential administrative and formal proceedings, including the reading of minutes from the previous meeting, and presentation of the annual and financial reports.

 

Following the AGM, the Scientific Session (Hybrid - in-person and virtual) will commence at 2:00 pm, featuring presentations by four distinguished experts who will provide in-depth insights into diabetes management in special populations. Each expert presentation will last 30 minutes, covering essential topics relevant to diabetes complications. Additionally, 15-minute presentations by sponsoring pharmaceutical companies will be interspersed throughout, offering attendees a glimpse into the latest advancements and resources available in diabetes care. This unique combination of expert knowledge and industry insights makes the AGSM a comprehensive and valuable learning experience for all participants.

 

 

THEME: Management of Diabetes Mellitus in Special Populations

 

The theme, Management of Diabetes Mellitus in Special Populations, highlights the importance of adapting diabetes care to meet the needs of diverse patient groups. As diabetes rates continue to rise, the healthcare community must be equipped with strategies to manage this chronic condition among vulnerable populations, including elderly, hospitalized, and perioperative patients. Through expert-led presentations and targeted discussions, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the tailored approaches essential for optimal outcomes in these unique cases.
