Alternative Antibiotics: 2nd Gen. Cephalosporins

In response to the evolving landscape of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the need for diversified therapeutic approaches, Continuous Education Services (CES) is delighted to announce a collaborative effort with Kofikrom Pharmacy to present a virtual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training session titled "Alternative Antibiotics: 2nd Gen. Cephalosporins."

 

By participating in, and achieving the objectives of this training, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to integrate 2nd Gen Cephalosporins into their clinical practices effectively. This CPD training not only contributes to the continuous professional development of healthcare practitioners but also aligns with the broader goal of addressing the challenges posed by antimicrobial resistance.

OBJECTIVES

1. Identify current available alternative antibiotics (2nd Gen Cephalosporins)

i. Explore the spectrum of 2nd Gen Cephalosporins available in the market.

ii. Understand the unique characteristics and advantages of each antibiotic within this class.

 

2. Evaluate the therapeutic outcomes of use

i. Examine clinical case studies highlighting successful outcomes with 2nd Gen Cephalosporins.

ii. Discuss the appropriate scenarios for prescribing these antibiotics based on patient profiles.

 

3. Review the prevalence and persistence of AMR:

i. Gain insights into the global prevalence of antimicrobial resistance.

ii. Understand the role of 2nd Gen Cephalosporins in combating AMR and promoting responsible antibiotic use.
