Prof. Eduardo Jose Mortani Barbosa Jr. is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, where he also serves as Director of CT in the Thoracic Imaging Section. His work integrates clinical practice, academic research, and technological innovation, with a focus on cardiothoracic imaging, lung cancer screening, and the application of artificial intelligence in radiology. He is a recognized authority in diagnostic imaging and has delivered invited lectures globally on machine learning, quantitative imaging, and advanced thoracic radiology.

He holds appointments across multiple hospitals within the University of Pennsylvania Health System and has played a key role in advancing structured reporting, radiation dose reduction, and imaging analytics. His contributions to medical education include mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as participation in faculty development and leadership training programs.
