Yvonne Gyamea Agyare is a dedicated Infection Prevention and Control Manager and perioperative nurse with extensive experience in healthcare. She combines strong leadership, analytical skills, and effective communication to enhance patient safety and optimize operational efficiency. Her professional focus includes infection prevention and control practices, perioperative nursing, and general nursing, supported by a passion for leveraging technology to solve healthcare challenges.
She has developed a comprehensive skill set, including health records management, theatre resource management, patient management, research, report development, and team leadership. She is proficient and effectively organizes and communicates complex information to diverse stakeholders. Her work experience spans roles at the University of Ghana Medical Centre, University of Ghana Hospital, Nsawam Government Hospital, and Winneba Government Hospital, where she consistently delivered quality care and operational excellence.
Yvonne holds a Master of Science in Clinical Management and Leadership from the University of Ghana, a Bachelor of Science in Perioperative Nursing from the School of Perioperative and Critical Care at Korle-Bu, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valley View University. She also earned her Registered General Nurse certification from the Nurses Training College, Cape Coast. Her ongoing professional development includes specialized training in global health epidemiology, Policy and advocacy in global health, and research.
She is an active member of various professional and community organizations, including the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), the Ghana Society of Perioperative Nurses, and The Operating Room Global. She also serves on key committees at the University of Ghana Medical Center, such as the Infection Prevention and Control Committee(secretary) and a member of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. Yvonne extends her expertise to community service, contributing as a health committee member and secretary in her church, the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Jesus Temple Malejor, and facilitating youth programs.
