Mr. Felix Kwame Afutu is an accomplished Epidemiologist with an extensive background in Monitoring and Evaluation, as well as data management. A graduate of Mawuli School, Mr. Afutu pursued a Diploma in Public Health for Public Health Superintendents at the Accra School of Hygiene and obtained a Diploma in Environmental Health Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Mr. Afutu's remarkable career includes serving as the Regional TB Coordinator, where he successfully implemented the re-structured National Tuberculosis Programme in the Brong Ahafo Region, earning accolades as the best-performing region from 1994 to 2001. Further enhancing his expertise, he pursued a Master of Science in Environmental Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the University of London.

His current role as the Head of the Research Monitoring and Evaluation Unit at the National Tuberculosis Programme underscores his commitment to advancing TB control programming through operational research. Noteworthy achievements include the successful implementation of Global Fund Grants Round 1 and 5 for Tuberculosis in Ghana, with 'A' ratings as the Monitoring and Evaluation officer and Data Manager. Mr. Afutu also supervised the complete change of the national TB treatment regime to Fixed Dose Combination Therapy in 2007.

Throughout his career, Mr. Afutu has actively contributed to the development and implementation of strategic plans, surveillance tools, and training manuals for TB control in Ghana. His leadership in coordinating the revised National Tuberculosis Programme in the Brong Ahafo Region, resulting in recognition as the best-performing Region in TB control from 1997 to 2001, showcases his commitment to excellence.

In his current position as the Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at the National TB Programme since 2013, Mr. Afutu continues to demonstrate his proficiency in developing M&E plans, participating in grant application proposals, monitoring program implementation, preparing periodic reports, conducting operational research, and evaluating program implementation.

Mr. Afutu's educational background includes an MSc in Environmental Epidemiology and Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a Diploma in Environmental Health Technology from the University of Science and Technology, and a Diploma in Public Health Superintendents from the Accra School of Hygiene.

His commitment to professional development is evident through numerous additional training programs, conferences, workshops, and publications. Mr. Afutu possesses additional skills in TB/HIV/AIDS counseling, a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, proficiency in Epi Info, EpiData, and Health Mapper, as well as excellent communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
