Dr. Maame Yaa Darkowaa Appiah is a radiology resident at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Her clinical experience spans various specialties including emergency medicine, paediatrics, surgery, internal medicine, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Prior to her current role, she worked as a medical officer at the Accident and Emergency Department of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where she was responsible for the emergency management of diverse medical, surgical, and trauma cases, including bedside ultrasound assessments and emergency procedures.

She has also served in senior house officer and house officer roles, gaining comprehensive clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as operative support and morbidity data analysis. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she has been involved in teaching final-year medical students in diagnostic radiology and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health, underscoring her interest in broader health systems and preventive medicine.

Dr. Appiah holds various certifications in life support, global health project management, leadership, and point-of-care ultrasound. Her professional affiliations include the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana and the Ghana Medical Association, reflecting her active engagement in professional medical practice and development.
