Dr. Edusei is a pathologist with over eighteen (18) years of laboratory practice. After returning to Ghana in
1999, he has been involved in routine diagnostic work, research, and training of both undergraduate and post
graduate students in different capacities at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
He received his undergraduate medical training in Romania and completed his housemanship at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Subsequently traveling to Austria for pathology training. Following completion of his pathology training in Austria, at the University of Innsbruck in 1999, he was appointed a specialist Pathologist in 2003 at the KBTH. He subsequently went back to Austria (University of Feldkirch) for cytology training and returned to work in the department in 2008. Over the years, he acquired tremendous experience as a surgical pathologist in the Department of Pathology. During the period he also taught as a part-time lecturer at the School of Nursing and the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Ghana.
He is a member of AORTIC, WADIAP, IAP, and ASCP. He has collaborated with colleagues and other researchers to conduct important research projects, such as, ‘Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in advanced breast cancer’ with Mayo in 2003, ‘Ghana Prostate health study’ with NCI in 2004, ‘A multidisciplinary Study of Breast Cancer in Ghana’ with NCI (2013 – 2015) and ‘Renal Complications in Sickle Cell Trait and Disease’ a project which still ongoing.
He has been supporting the pathology departments of the 37 Military hospital from 2001till date and the Police hospital as a visiting Pathologist from 2001 till 2016. He is currently the principal pathologist in ‘SIOP AFRICA/PODC, Collaborative Wilms Tumour Project.
He has presented papers at international conferences. He is graced with the ability and wisdom to achieve good successes in all endeavors and is more than able to contribute significantly to achieving goals in any project he is involved in.
