Dr. Erica Danfrekua Dickson, MBChB, PhD, is a Physician Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Director of Mental Health at the Ghana Armed Forces Health Services (GAFHS), where she is responsible for mental health policy and standards development, prevention and promotion programmes, and supervision of mental health services. She is also the former Head of the Therapy and Wellness Department at the Medical Division of the 37 Military Hospital, Accra, where she provided clinical psychological and mental health services and supervised staff, students, and interns.

She holds a PhD in Psychology (PhD) and a Master of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology (MPhil) from the University of Ghana, as well as a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB) and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology (BSc) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She is professionally licensed by the Medical and Dental Council (MDC) and the Ghana Psychology Council.

Dr. Dickson has extensive experience in clinical psychology, psychosocial care, mental health policy, curriculum development, training, supervision, and organisational mental health support. She has provided psychosocial services to individuals and organisations across the health, financial, telecommunications, insurance, government, military, and non-governmental sectors. Her areas of interest include neurodevelopmental disorders, suicide, non-communicable diseases, trauma, and other health-related psychological issues.

She is a member of the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA) and the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), and has served in leadership and advisory roles within professional and health-sector organisations. She also has teaching and academic supervision experience, including work with undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students and clinical psychology interns.
