Dr. Sarkodie's professional excellence has been acknowledged through multiple awards, including being named the second-best health worker in the Volta Region by the Volta Regional Health Directorate, as well as receiving recognition as the best health worker for the Krachi West District. His research contributions have earned him a role on the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) team, where he and his colleagues secured a significant grant for their work in combating antimicrobial resistance. His research has also led to several publications in peer-reviewed journals, addressing critical topics such as HIV treatment quality, antimicrobial stewardship, and adherence to drug therapy.
Dr. Sarkodie's career in clinical pharmacy extends beyond academia. He has been a preceptor for clinical pharmacy residents from the West Africa Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and the Ghana College of Pharmacists, where he has mentored many specialists in infectious disease and clinical pharmacy. His experience also includes leadership roles as a Director of Pharmacy and Specialist Pharmacist at the KNUST Hospital, where he supervises pharmacy staff, manages pharmaceutical inventory, and ensures the delivery of safe and effective drug therapy. In addition, he has served as Acting Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, providing academic leadership and overseeing teaching, research, and vocational training activities.
