OVERVIEW

The webinar aims to enlighten both healthcare professionals and the general public on behaviours contributing to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and ways the community can actively participate in combating this global health challenge. It serves as an educational platform, fostering awareness and understanding of the critical link between consumer actions and the rise of AMR.

OBJECTIVES

Education of the General Public:

Objective: To disseminate knowledge on behaviors that promote antimicrobial resistance.

Rationale: By reaching a broad audience, we strive to increase awareness and understanding of the actions that contribute to AMR, empowering individuals to make informed choices.

 

Empowering the Public:

Objective: To equip members of the public with actionable information on how they can contribute to the fight against AMR.

Rationale: Empowering individuals with practical steps will transform awareness into tangible efforts, fostering a sense of responsibility and active engagement in the battle against antimicrobial resistance.

 

Myth Busting and Misconception Clarification:

Objective: To debunk any myths and misconceptions surrounding antimicrobials.

Rationale: Clearing misinformation is crucial in fostering a well-informed community. Addressing myths will contribute to better understanding and informed decision-making regarding antimicrobial use.

 

Thematic Topics

Objective: To delve into specific topics related to AMR, including its occurrence, self-medication, discontinuing antimicrobial medication, and infection prevention and control.

Rationale: By exploring these topics, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors contributing to AMR and practical measures to mitigate its impact.
